The Russian Orthodox Warn Canterbury...

...on the need to preserve the Sacrament of Holy Orders and the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
The introduction of the institution of female bishops will lead to the elimination of even a theoretical possibility of the Moscow patriarchate recognising the church hierarchy of the Anglican Church... 'We know that the Anglican Church is now going through a difficult time and various views, positions, and parties co-exist in it. However, we really hope that the traditional understanding of Christian morals and the church system will prevail in this polemic... Prevent secular society from forcing on the Church of England the recognition of some forms of cohabitation which have never been considered marriage by Christian churches.'
The time for a reorientation of Anglican-Orthodox dialogue toward the orthodox Continuing Anglican Churches has never been more opportune or more necessary.

Dialogue between Orthodoxy and continuing Anglicanism would be a distinct possibility. However, Orthodox are bewildered by the doctrinal diversity found even within the continuing Anglican movement. Some are very close to Orthodox, others are devoted to Calvinism. Whenever I talk with an Anglican, I do not know what he or she will say of what they believe. Those who are Orthodox should explore the Western Rite Orthodox movement. Both the Patriarchate of Antioch and Moscow have Western Rite parishes that use Anglican forms of worship revised to conform to Orthodox theology.

A ROCOR Western Rite church is starting up in the Acworth area-St. Nicholas of Myra. They are using the Liturgy of our Father among the Saints, Saint Gregory. This Liturgy is somewhat familiar to any Anglican, but probably not those interested in maintaining a Calvinist leaning.
