Dear Father:
How wonderful to hear from you! Yes, it is true, I am guilty - I am certainly a Marian, Eucharistic, dare I say 'sacrificing' Priest, but I doubt I could ever ascend to the heights which you have attained! No doubt many devotions to Our Lady, such as the Brown Scapular, are extremely edifying and spiritually beneficial. I only offer my aforementioned caveat for the sake of those persons who need, for whatever reason, to realise that such devotions, although enriching and helpful, are not essential to the de fidei substance of the revealed Catholic Religion. But your point is well taken. If a devotion meets the tests and criteria of catholic orthodoxy, then it is much better to use it than to neglect it.
This site is dedicated to the traditional Anglican expression of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We profess the orthodox Christian Faith enshrined in the three great Creeds and the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the ancient undivided Church. We celebrate the Seven Sacraments of the historic Church. We cherish and continue the Catholic Revival inaugurated by the Tractarian or Oxford Movement. Not tepid centrist Anglicanism.
