Saint Barnabas Dunwoody: Closure through 4th April 2020

16th March 2020

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Because of the continued progression of the coronavirus epidemic, Saint Barnabas Church will cancel the public celebration of the Holy Eucharist on Sundays 22nd March and 29th March. The parish is now officially closed to the public through Saturday 4th April. We shall continue closely to monitor the situation and to evaluate the possibility of having public services once more on Palm Sunday. It is our intention to livestream and record Sunday liturgical services online during the closure period, however long that may have to last.

All parishioners are dispensed from the Sunday obligation of attendance at Holy Communion through 29th March.

Please share this email - we shall post regular weekly updates on our website, www.stbarnabasatl.org and on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/StBarnabasAnglicanChurchAtl/, and via email. Notices will be provided routinely going forward.

Please be certain to register your email address for our email update list and your telephone number for our robocall system. We shall have the latest information available, and an email subscription form ready to post, on Wednesday 18th March.

One may telephone the parish administrator on 770.457.1103. The office is closed to visitors but one may telephone during business hours. The Rector may be contacted at any time on c.jones@stbarnabasatl.org and 404.313.9448. One is always welcome to contact the parish clergy via telephone, text, and email in case of necessity.

In the meantime, let us continue to pray fervently for one another, for our parish, and for our community.

Our Saint Barnabas family has shown great spiritual maturity and calm throughout this crisis. Let us place all our faith and trust in the Divine Redeemer, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and let us pray for a swift end to this trial.

O MOST mighty and merciful God, in this time of grievous sickness, we flee unto thee for succour. Deliver us, we beseech thee, from our peril; give strength and skill to all those who minister to the sick; prosper the means made use of for their cure; and grant that, perceiving how frail and uncertain our life is, we may apply our hearts unto that heavenly wisdom which leadeth to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless you!
